Dai Jia-Chang
Taroko|Fashion Designer|Cultural Practitioner
I come from Xiulin, Hualien, a place where the mountains and the sea meet and where culture runs deep. Growing up in the tribe, I was exposed to my grandmother and mother weaving traditional clothes, and the patterns, rituals, dances, and songs have become part of my soul.
During my schooling, I studied fashion design at Shih Chien University and returned to my hometown after graduation, where I began to integrate my design with the culture of my ethnic group and began to delve deeper into the garments, crafts, and stories of the Taroko people.
My designs are not just clothing, they are a carrier of the tribe's history and a bridge for modern young people to re-recognize their own identity.

Vision & Mission

Why did you create this brand.
I started the brand “qsurux_qraqil” because I saw too many precious ethnic cultures being lost. Through design, I want to let more people see the beauty of Taiwan's aboriginal people, not only traditional, but also modern, avant-garde, and even on the international stage.
Our vision
is to let the aboriginal culture put on the coat of modern language, stand on the fashion stage, and walk into everyone's daily life. We hope that “qsurux_qraqil” can become a bridge between the tribe and the world, so that culture can live in the present and continue to flow in the future.
Our Core Values
Respect for Culture: Each piece of artwork is created with respect for the wisdom of the tribe.
Sustainability: Designed and produced in small quantities, pre-ordered, and in an earth-friendly manner.
Affirmative Thinking: To give tribal women and youth more opportunities to participate and have a voice.
Aesthetic Legacy: Using design to tell the story so that the next generation can also feel the power of the ancestral spirits.
